After many years writing blogs, articles, managing the UK library RFID list and chairing industry-wide committees on standards, protocols and best practice I decided it was maybe time to try and distil some of the work into a one (quite long) page guide to the technology.

So this small corner of my internet world is dedicated to providing an overview of this hugely under-exploited technology that has been deployed in the world’s libraries for over 20 years – without really being fully understood by users and suppliers alike.

My previous ramblings – and the results of all those surveys can still be found on the new ‘Changing Libraries‘ site.

Currently I’m kept pretty busy working with the UK government taskforce for libraries, the Society of Chief Librarians, as chair of Book Industry Communication‘s Liaison Group but still provide advice to both librarians and suppliers on the use and development of RFID and related technologies.
